Silver Creek Community is operated as a non-profit corporation in the state of North Carolina. The Board of Directors are a governing body required by North Carolina law to oversee the business and operation of the Silver Creek Community. The Board of Directors are elected during the Annual meeting, held each October, and are volunteers who own property within the Silver Creek Community.

Silver Creek Community does not currently have a garbage collection system. Silver Creek Community is located within the Burke County area, and is able to take advantage of the Burke County Garbage Collection sites as part of the taxes paid. Silver Creek Community is just a short drive to the closest collection facility, on US-64. More information about Burke County Garbage is available from: http://www.burkecounty-ga.gov/departments/solid-waste
Downtown Morganton contains an abundance of boutique shops, furniture shops, restaurants, and more.
Leave SilverCreek by turning right from Roper Hollow Rd., and onto US HWY 64. Continue 7 miles and you will enter downtown, just 2.4 miles past the Interstate 40. For the most current listing of shops, visit www.downtownmorganton.com. Just before you get to downtown Morganton, you will find a Lowes on the left (1224 Burkemont Ave, Morganton, NC 28655), Food Lion (1230 Burkemont Ave, Morganton, NC 28655) and several fast food restaurants (Chick-Fil-A, Cook Out, Subway, etc.) along with the Morganton Public Safety (Fire/Police) station.
Turn left at Highway 64-Bypass (The NC School of Deaf will be on your right) and just one stoplight down is a 24-hour Wal-Mart (G120 Morganton Heights Blvd., Morganton, NC 28655) along with many shops, in the Morganton Heights shopping center. Located along the road is an Applebee’s and Golden Corral restaurants.
Just off the highway is the Carolina’s Medical Center BlueRidge Hospital. This hospital is located just off Interstate 40 at exit 105. There is also an Urgent Care located just across from the Walmart.
The closest DMV license office is located at: 260 Enola Rd, Morganton, NC 28655 in downtown Morganton. Just a few miles away in Morganton is the Tag office, located at: 603 S. College St., Morganton, NC 28655.
The Silver Creek Springs Community voting site is at Pilot Mountain School – just a short drive from the Mountain. Take a left out of Roper Hollow Rd onto US HWY 64, and then the school will be on your left side about 2.5 miles. The address is: 4806 US 64, MORGANTON NC 28655. When you move, you must register to vote again. Register on-line at RegistertoVote.org or go to any public library or DMV office.
The closest Public Library is located downtown Morganton at: 204 S. King Street, Morganton, NC 28655.
Visit http://www.burke.k12.nc.us/ for a listing of all public schools in our area including neighborhood schools and magnet school options and enrollment procedures. The Silver Creek Springs Community is zoned for the following schools: Elementary – W.A. Young; / Middle – Liberty / High – Patton
Morganton also is home to Western Piedmont Community College.
